Ahead of the Autumn Budget on 22nd November, Theo spoke to The Mirror about his top three demands from the Chancellor:
Business Rates – If we don’t reform the business rates system, we kill the high street and local communities. We have lazy ministers not doing what they need to do, and that needs to be urgently address.
Stamp Duty – People need to be able to realise their home-owning dreams and the Government is stamping their size 9s all over those dreams. A stamp duty cut for first-time buyers needs to be made alongside a reduction across all brands – because otherwise these buyers will have nowhere to go.
Brexit – EU departure is on the horizon and the Chancellor needs to make sure Britain is open for Business. The UK needs to be business friendly and ready for overseas investment. The opportunity is there, but Brexit has to be included in the Budget’s plan book.
