Theo Paphtis - Partners Stationer

Partners the Stationer is a renowned stationery brand, opening in 1976 as a single store in Staffordshire, growing to its current operation of 87 stores nationwide.

Having seized a gap in the market for discount stationery, the business soon boomed with over 100 stores opening throughout the UK during the 1990's.

Later in the decade, the chain moved away from its discount image to become a mainstream stationery retailer. The company was bought by Chancerealm Ltd, controlled by Theo Paphitis, when it fell into financial difficulties and into administration in 2001.

With a customer base that is 70% female, Partners focuses on family requirements, providing stationery items for business, educational and recreational use. Core products include paper, pens, filing and adhesives as well as office essentials such as paper shredders. And in response to an increased interest in card making and scrap booking, the latest addition to the stores is an enhanced art and craft range.
