Over 1,700 small business all around the country are already in the #SBS winners circle. The idea, created by Theo at his kitchen table in October 2010, has now expanded so much to include an annual event, positive media coverage for winners, networking opportunities, monthly #SBS winners and now, just launched, an online shop for #SBS winners to collectively sell their products through via www.shopsbs.co.uk .
Products range from pet toys and wedding jewellery, to garden tools and kids clothing. With around 4000 products already available on shopsbs.co.uk there is something for everyone and everything, making it an online shopping destination whether needing champagne to celebrate, or a beautiful bird house for the garden!
Theo Paphitis, Chairman of the Theo Paphitis Retail Group that encapsulates the Ryman Stationery, Boux Avenue and Robert Dyas brands, was thrilled to be able to offer something extra to the #SBS winners: “#SBS winners are some of the most passionate business owners I’ve come across and it’s been a pleasure to be able to extend our support even further via the #SBS Shop. The site will give the winners a joint platform to sell their products on and we hope it will boost their sales, enhance brand awareness and help them be even more successful, showing that British small businesses can be some of the best in the world.”
“The second stage of the #SBS Shop roll out will also include our service provider winners who are chomping at the bit to join in the fun. They haven’t got long to wait and will be added to the site this summer.”
#SBS has teamed up with Mercado Commerce to make this initiative happen, who have developed a platform that allows a variety of different ‘shop owners’ to populate their products onto a shared selling space, meaning each small business is in control of their sales and product listings. shopsbs.co.uk will build on the existing community strength and utilise the combined #SBS network to share customers and reach a wider audience.
Each week, Theo rewards small businesses that tweet him @TheoPaphitis and describe their businesses in one tweet including the all-important hashtag #SBS. Only tweets made in the time slot between 5.00 PM and 7.30 PM each Sunday count. Every Monday night at 8pm, Theo reviews and chooses his favourite lucky six who are then re-tweeted. As he has nearly 500,000 Twitter followers, this provides a massive boost to the chosen lucky businesses.
The benefits range from increased Twitter followers, to positive media publicity and crucially for many, increased sales! For more details on how to enter and to visit the #SBS website please click here.
