Dragons' Den Top Questions

The three most common questions about Dragons’ Den are:

Q : ‘Do the Dragons’ invest their own cash?

A : Yes.

Q : ‘What background information do you have on the entrepreneurs before you hear their pitch?’

A : None whatsoever. It’s a rule that we must not know the entrepreneurs or their products and services before they pitch to us on the programme.

Q : ‘What’s the best investment you’ve made in the Den so far?’

A : Magic Whiteboard. I have so much respect for Neil and Laura Westwood. Few contestants get four Dragons’ Den panellists fighting to invest in their business, but Magic Whiteboard is one of the show’s rare genuine success stories.

While countless entrepreneurs have seen their ideas ridiculed, and other ‘successful’ pitches have faded into insignificance, the Westwoods converted £100,000 of investment from Deborah Meaden and me into a 50% profit margin in just two years!
